Jasmine Flower Tea is an authentic jasmine-scented Chinese green tea featuring whole dried jasmine blossoms alongside the scented tea leaves — the traditional Fuzhou style of jasmine tea production. The tea base is a Chinese green or white tea, scented through repeated contact with freshly opened jasmine flowers harvested at night (when jasmine fragrance is most intense). The flowers are then sifted out; the addition of whole dried jasmine blossoms to the final product is a visual enhancement as much as a flavor addition.
Fuzhou in Fujian Province is the heartland of jasmine tea production, with a history stretching back to the Song Dynasty (960–1279 CE). The authentic scenting method — alternating layers of tea and jasmine, multiple scenting passes — produces a fragrance that is genuine and complex rather than the flat, synthetic jasmine common in lower-grade products.
In the cup, Jasmine Flower Tea brews a pale golden color with a pronounced, natural jasmine aroma. The body is light, the florals clean and authentic.
Brew at 175°F for 2–3 minutes. Use 2 grams per 6-ounce cup.
